Four people have been jailed for corruption after a man bribed three managers at a demolition company with offices in Belfast, Co Antrim.

Arben Hysa (56) was convicted of three counts of bribery for paying Michael McCarthy, Simon Lacey, and John Burke €705,000 (£600,000) in bribes.

The bribes were paid between 2012 and 2018 and during that time Hysa’s company, Tony Demolition Workers Ltd (TDW), secured specialist labour contracts worth €17.6 million (£15 million).

The three men were also convicted of receiving bribes, which were a “breach of trust” in respect of their obligations to their employer.

Hysa admitted to reciving a 10 to 15 per cent cut of what his workers were paid by Keltbray.

The court heard McCarthy accepted £292,211.72, Burke received £217,160.86, and Lacey £91,521.79.
